‘Production Shift Managers’ and ‘Production Technicians’
Flexipol is a privately owned company manufacturing packaging for the food industry. The company was formed 10 years ago and started with 4 people and 1 machine. Flexipol now have around 90 employees and 3 manufacturing units, operating 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 51 weeks of the year and specialising in short run fast turn around niche type business. Flexipol have developed a number of innovative patented products for which they have won the coveted ‘Queens Award for Innovation’. The company are both BRC/IOP and ISO 9000 accredited and achieved Investors in People.
Flexipol Packaging are looking to recruit ‘Production Shift Managers’ who will be responsible for running one of the production units and leading teams (of 5-10 people) on a rotating day & night shift pattern. The successful applicants will have supervisory / managerial experience and some knowledge of plastic processing. This is a ‘hands-on’ position and will require mechanical experience.
The company are also looking for ‘Production Technicians’ who will work within the Extrusion, Print or Conversion Departments operating a range of machinery. These people need to be keen to progress quickly into Shift Supervisor and Shift Manager roles within the company. The successful applicants must be able to work within a factory environment. Some experience of polythene processing and / or material testing would be an advantage but this is not essential as full training will be given. Above any academic qualifications or experience, it is much more important that the applicants have an enthusiastic approach and are keen to be involved in a dynamic and successful company.
The manufacturing process involves setting up the machines, reel changes and tests, problem solving i.e issues with material or temperature. You will also be involved in testing, trials, quality control aspects and health and safety. The company provides an in-house training programme and for the right people there would be career progression.
The hours average 37.5 per week working on 8 or 12 hour rotating (day & night) shift patterns although some initial training may take place on days (Monday – Friday).
The positions are permanent and based in Rossendale, Lancashire and attract a weekly wage (including shift allowance etc)- more details on application.
