Easy open sacks- How to reduce health and safety risk in your manufacturing process

Flexipol’s patented, Ripp ‘n’ Flow sacks provide a safe and hygienic solution to the challenges associated with paper and other poly sacks during material handling.

Traditionally, all ingredients packed into either paper or polythene sacks have required a knife to open the top, prior to pouring the product into the mixer. Opening sacks with knives on production lines has always caused problems, from the health and safety risk of the operators using the knives, potentially injuring themselves or others, to the contamination risks of having to slash the bags open- where items such as such as paper, string and polythene would end up in the product.

Flexipol’s patented, Ripp ‘n’ Flow sacks provide a safe and hygienic solution to the challenges associated with paper and other poly sacks during material handling. Ripp ‘n’ Flow’s easy-open sack system allows fast and simple product decanting, as well as eliminating the health and safety and contamination risks associated with using knives to cut open a sack.

These high performance, 100% recyclable, food grade, easy-open sacks are used by food manufacturers including processors of breadcrumbs, batter, sauce powders, coatings, egg powder, pasta, flavourings, minerals, ingredients, herbs, spices, aggregates, powder, cement, minerals, chemicals, sand and salt.

The easy open design or ‘Ripp Strip’ is placed at the top of the sack. Once the bags are filled with your product and sealed, there are two perforated lines on the strip. Carefully tear these and lift up the flap created. Pick up the sack for decanting and pour out the product.

With our new generation Ripp ‘n’ Flow 2 sack (pictured), the strip can be placed anywhere on the face of the bag, and opens from the side. Featuring all the benefits of the Ripp ‘n’ Flow sack, but can speed up decanting by 50%.

We can even print a handy guide with images on the Ripp Strip for the operators to see how to use it.
